Honoring the uprising that followed the police murder of George Floyd, Longfellow Rising is committed to racial equity, creation care, affordable housing, worker justice, cultural vitality, economic prosperity and belonging

GET INVOLVED

We are a diverse group of business owners, property owners, nonprofit leaders, economic developers, community partners and residents based near the intersections of Lake Street Minnehaha Ave and 27th Ave, near the site of the former 3rd Police precinct. We are people who either lost buildings and/or businesses due to fire and civil unrest, whose businesses have been closed or impacted by fire and civil unrest, and/or who are deeply involved with supporting and providing relief for the residents, businesses, and property owners in the neighborhood.

We work to honor the uprising that followed the police murder of George Floyd by working collaboratively to rebuild Downtown Longfellow with a focus on BIPOC ownership, strengthened social fabric infrastructure, and re-designed buildings that facilitate community gathering and belonging for all.

We are committed to racial equity, creation care, affordable housing, worker justice, cultural vitality, economic prosperity, and belonging.
